Haymaker Farmers' Market offers a weekly educational program for children 12 and under at Market every Saturday morning in downtown Kent at the Outdoor Season markets from May through October. This successful program called the "Power of Produce" (or POP) kids club teaches healthy eating to young children by
- offering samples of the weekly, seasonal fresh fruit or vegetable from a local farmer;
- engaging children in a brief craft or activity related to featured produce
- giving children $2 of tokens they can spend with any Haymaker vendor for fresh fruits or vegetables

Haymaker staff will prepare activities and set up table and display, but volunteers are needed to staff the event, especially during the hours 9:30am-11:30am when it is the busiest. Peak season days can bring 140+ children to participate, but attendance varies especially with weather and season. Many children have returned year after year and look forward to this fun, welcoming activity at Market!
We're seeking volunteers who enjoy working with children, crafts, healthy eating, & farmers markets and who are comfortable working in a (sheltered) outdoor environment.
